Jan Eric Kvarnström is a Swedish citizen resident in Hamburg. He holds a Master of Science in Economics from Uppsala University, and executive MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics and has completed the Executive Programme at HBS.

Kvarnström is one of the most experienced leaders of bank restructuring in Europe. Having served in various top-level positions with the leading Nordic bank Nordea, he went on to become CEO of Securum AB (1994-97), the Swedish “bad bank” created after the Swedish banking crisis in the early 1990s and one of Europe’s first vehicles of its kind. Kvarnström went on to perform the same type of restructuring for Dresdner Bank as an Executive Board Member and CEO of its Internal Restructuring Unit (2002-2006). Kvarnström has advised governments in the Baltic region on bank restructuring, as co-founder and Senior Advisor of European Resolution Capital Partner Ltd. (2008-2010). He has provided restructuring advice to governments and financial institutions in Ireland and Germany. In 2012, Kvarnström was appointed Chairman of the Advisory Board of Iceland’s Glitnir Bank .

Kvarnström has plenty of executive experience, not least from his role as CEO of Esselte Group, a large international office products group, as Executive chairman of Linebrook Ltd. as well as from various executive roles in the Bonnier sphere early in his career.

Kvarnström has a wealth of experience as non-executive Board member, including almost two decades as Chairman of the Swedish blue-chip property company Castellum AB, and as Board member of inter alia Nobel Biocare AG, the Swedish Post, Servisair Plc, Akzo Nobel BV, Geveke BV and currently Genworth Financial.

A couple of years ago Jan Eric Kvarnström together with his wife Karin Siegle-Kvarnström initiated a Female Executive and Cross Mentoring program called ANNA+Cie.
